Revolutionary Road

I finally finished reading Revolutionary Road yesterday and immediately made Husband take me to the movie, which I've been dying to see.

I loved both.

Kate and Leo were fantastic, of course, and the other actors filled their roles perfectly.

Yates delicately portrayed the complications and nuances of human relations, which the movie managed to reflect. In the book he also captured the interplay between character and circumstance as well as the experience of encountering the dissipating dreams of youth. I'm not sure I can write a review that will do the book justice, so let me just say that I highly recommend it to everyone.

I'll have to give the book another go... I didn't manage to get into it when I tried it.

I'll have another try so I can read it before I see the film. Thanks for raving about it...

Angie, I loved the book too, despite an ominous feel for the ending. But the way you describe the story is exactly how I would describe it.I just finished it today actually, in the hospital of all places. Now, all I need to do, is go see the movie.

JJ, I loved it, but it might not be for everyone as it's fairly depressing. I hope you enjoy it though, and I certainly recommend the movie!

AW, it's hard to describe so I'm glad I captured it okay. That had to be an eerie place to finish! (And I hope everything's alright.)
Enjoy the movie.
