We're off for the weekend with normal service resuming on Monday. I wish it were an exciting trip, but it's not. We're driving to Portland this afternoon--about a 10-11 hour trip with few stops--staying with a friend tonight, and then driving to the Dalles tomorrow for a funeral. My mom's best friend's father died last Sunday, and he was like a surrogate grandpa to me. I'm really close to the whole family so I want to be there. Adam's grandma lives in the Dalles, so we'll get to see her as well as his mom, which will be good. That night, we're turning around, driving to Bend to shave a few hours off the trip, staying the night, then leaving the next morning for San Jose, which is a 8.5-9 hour trip from Bend. Good thing I got all those books for my birthday! Speaking of, I got another package yesterday with Roth's Zuckerman Unbound so I'm really excited to continue the Zuckerman trilogy.
To keep you entertained, I'm gonna give you the link to another fun video, though this one is much more in the Jackass entertainment style than the political commentary style.
Now that I think of it, you may get service (oo la la) late Sunday night when I return since it is one of my favorite holidays and the day before my birthday. Watch this spot.

that video was pretty good, but of course I enjoyed the jibjab one better. I think that was my favorite since the first "this land is your land..." one. Anyway, we'll talk with you again when you are back in town after this weekend...
