Mopey and Spotty

Sorry for the spotty blog service this week. I seem to be entering another migraine marathon, so I'm trying to limit my computer time. Monday evening I got aura before my migraine hit, and since I've only had aura a few times before I didn't realize it was coming. I usually recognize all the symptoms of a migraine coming on, but this one snuck up on me. I just thought my eyes were fatigued and playing tricks. Yesterday evening the migraine came back and I woke up with it this morning. Usually I take excedrin and sleep for another hour in complete dark and I can shake the migraine, but it didn't work this morning. I took my prescription and finally it went away an hour later. The best part was this morning when the phone rang and I stumbled in the dark to answer it and slammed my shin against the coffee table causing a blue egg to develop immediately. Had a good cry on that one while Drew gave me some snuggles.
I didn't get very far on chapter 2 yesterday due to the head problems, but I'm hoping to finish the editing (past to present tense) today so I can work to finish the chapter by next week. Probably a lofty goal since we're leaving tomorrow, but I'm 2/3 through it already. Hope you all have a good weekend.

p.s. The aura link above also has impressive links to the effects of migraines on (some famous) artists: musicians, painters, writers, etc. Fascinating stuff if you ask me.

So sorry to hear about your migraines, don't feel guilty if you can't finish the chapter, your health is much more important. Enjoy your weekend, hope you get to relax and have a big break from the computer screen.

Hellojed's right. Health is first. Painkillers have temporary relieving effect. Take a nap and a complete rest, away from the PC. You'll always have time to finish that chapter. Don't worry be happy.

Hey Angie

Just read your blog for the first time. What an interesting person you are, and you have done marathon training too. I am well impressed.

It is a really bold and exciting move to give up a full time career in publishing to become a writer. I gave up a career in law and banking to become a psychotherapist a few years back. Life has much bigger highs and lows now and less of that grey, monotonous, middle of the road sameness.

Well done you for shaking off your migraine. Sounds really debilitating and scary. I suffer from migraines too, so I can empathise.

So looking forward to hearing more about your writing. Keep going!

Hi Hullaballoo, thanks for visiting my blog and for your sweet comments.
Changing careers can be scary, but it does seem to be rewarding if you're pursuing your passion, doesn't it.
There seem to be a lot of us migraine sufferers out there.
Congrats on your new blog. I'll be stopping by to say hello.
