Roller punks

The only thing more enjoyable than holiday shopping and parking is dealing with unruly kids on roller shoes while doing said shopping. Am I the only grouchy adult that despises those shoes? I can't understand why parents let kids use them in public, especially inside stores or on crowded sidewalks. I'm sure I would have loved them when I was 13, but my mom would have whooped my arse if I rolled around in the store on them. And why, oh why, are so many people out Christmas shopping. The official Christmas shopping season doesn't begin for another week, people. Oh.

I hate those damn 'Wheelies' because they whoosh past you/skim in front of you and make you leap out of your skin. GRRRRrrrrr

I hear they're banned in some malls in the UK - oops, that should be shopping centres!

My kids keep asking for them, and I keep ignoring them. That seems to do the trick!

They are appalling. And the Christmas crowds are doing my head in too.

Lane, It would be one thing if they used them in appropriate locations, but as it is I think they're trying to kill anyone over 14!

JJ, Really? I think they should be, they're so dangerous, especially when kids do whatever they want.

Good on you! ;)

Hellojed, I'm trying to finish all shopping by Dec so I don't have to deal with the really bad crowds, or any more roller shoes.

Rebecca, you don't have them in Australia? Lucky you...Here's a link to view some:

Basically they're tennis shoes with wheels that pop out, so kids will pop them out in the middle of the store and go whizzing by!

Oh geez. I despise those things. I told the fiance that I would never let my kids have those. I actually saw a boy with them in church! Ay!

Kristen, These things wouldn't be so bad if the parents were supervising...who would let their kid wear them in church?

I think they look quite fun actually, but then I have not yet been subject to a bout of wheelie shoe rage lol.

Hullaballoo, I would've loved them as a kid, but I hate them now because all the kids I see whizzing past are using them without parental supervision - in stores and other inappropriate places.
