Shower writing

I wish someone could explain to me why it is that I have my best writing ideas in the shower, yet when I sit down to type them, they always come out in a jumbled mess. I think someone--less technically challenged than me--should invent a keyboard or laptop that is waterproof and designed to be used in the shower for all those 'lightbulb' moments. It would be brilliant! It would change the world as we know it. No one would suffer another frustrating moment when they lose an idea on their way from the shower to the computer. I'm sure it would transform the musical world too since the shower is obviously the best place to practice singing. Now, if I can just recall that perfect plot point I thought up while shaving, I'll be off to write...

(Incidentally, if you do take this idea and make millions off it, I would expect a percentage of the royalties!)

SNAP! I have exactly the same problem. For some reason it makes perfect sense in their but something's lost in translation later. At the very least a waterproof dictaphone would do it! Will have a word with my IT boyfriend...

Shower is the (only) opportunity when you are left with yourself. Singing is the best inspiration people have in shower.

My ideas come when I've gone to bed, especially late night. I often get off to jot down the ideas before they vanish the moment after.

Ideas always come when you least expect them to.

I have my ideas whilst wallowing in the bath. I've ruined at least one phone by dropping it in, mind you I was listening to my sister waffling so it wasn't such a bad thing.

I have the "random wedding idea in the shower" thing going on right now. Should anything be invented along those lines, you let me know. They could make a killing with brides-to-be.

Yvonne, a dictaphone is a great idea! Hope the IT boyfriend can come up with something.

Alfaking, true, it's relaxing and must free the mind to explore ideas (and songs!).
I often have ideas when I lie in bed too and keep a journal on my night stand just in case. :)

Debs, thanks for visiting. The bath is another great place - I always struggle to not ruin my books in there. :)

Kristen, hope you don't drown in those wedding ideas (hardy har)! Perhaps the technically-inclined fiance could start some research.
