Life

Every fall I avoid watching new premiering tv shows because I don't like getting hooked on more tv. I watch The Office on Thursdays along with the comedy night shows, and I like watching 24 in January. But I was intrigued by a new show called Life because I like the main actor, Damian Lewis. I think he's fun to watch, and the show looked intriguing.

I'm now completely hooked. It could have been just another cop drama, but it's very funny and has a unique spin. He plays a cop who was convicted of murder and sent to prison for 12 years. With the help of his kick-arse, and might I add, sexy lawyer, he was exonerated and returned to his job as a detective. His character is so quirky and unique that he radiates in the show. The things he says are hilarious. He survived prison by learning the art of Zen, and he brings the teachings of Zen into his everyday life in the strangest ways. His partner is quite compelling too as an alcoholic who became hooked on drugs while on an undercover operation. She's prickly, but good, I think. He met his roommate and financial adviser in prison, where he served time for insider trading. At the end of each episode he delves into new evidence for his case, trying to find out who really committed the murder and set him up.

The writing is fresh, the cast shines, and if you're looking for a fresh new show on Wednesday nights, this just might be it.

Words written today: Pfft, a measly 208. On the plus side I made 1.5 new Christmas presents. Yay! No? Oh.

Ang, you may have a backup career as a television critic. Your review made me want to check it out. They should be paying you! ;-)

Can you tell I'm getting little to no work done today?

Kristen, aw shucks, thanks. Show me the money, eh?

Um, I swear I had nothing to do with that, what with the barrage of emails and blogging. Sheesh! ;) (p.s. me neither.)

Hellojed, oh do check it out, it's fab.
